Artist’s Statement

These three goats possess a level of intense, unapologetic judgment usually reserved for stern art critics. Painted with thick, buttery oils and bold palette knife strokes, Inquisitive Trio explores the rich interior lives of farm animals who clearly suspect they know more about color theory than we do.

I felt compelled to capture this moment of shared, unblinking curiosity—mostly because refusing to break eye contact with three stubborn caprine philosophers is impossible once they decide to inspect you. The heavy impasto and tactile oil texture give their coats a sculptural weight that matches their oversized personalities, blending post-impressionist vibrancy with a healthy dose of barnyard attitude.
