Artist’s Statement
This piece is part of a current body of work focused on holding time. I am asking questions about the nature of memories and how we store and access them. How do memories manifest in the physical world and how do we manipulate them as we recall and reorder them? Fleeting memories captured on fragile porcelain loops cautiously caught on unforgiving hardware, or possibly dropped and shattered forever. My work asks sensitive questions about how we choose to expose our personal identity, the repeating images we use as personal expressions, and what we leave behind as reminders of our transient existence.
