Artist’s Statement

Entre Raíz y Cielo reflects my ongoing journey of self-discovery and reconnection with ancestry, land, and the cosmos. After moving to a farm, I became more aware of the relationship between the earth beneath me and the expansive sky above, the stars, planets, and changing celestial events. At the center of the ceramic installation is the soul, rooted into the earth through ancestry and memory while reaching toward the sky. Working in clay deepens this connection, as the material itself comes from the earth. The work considers how identity, nature, and cosmology exist within one continuous cycle of life.
