Artist’s Statement

What makes this work noteworthy is its honesty. The clouds give physical form to an unfiltered, inquisitive and uncertain  mind. Questions about the world, contradictions, insecurities, and random conversations within myself with random journal notes. I'm interested in exploring value in not always having the answers and allowing the work to remain imperfect and disheveled. This specific work challenges the pressure to compete, be understood, or create for others and even challenge the viewer on their standards of beauty.  For me, the work is about trusting myself enough to create authentically and recognizing that uncertainty, imperfection, and questioning can be just as beautiful as the aesthetics.
