Artist’s Statement

I am so pleased to be able to share my work, Ladybug On My Kitchen Window Sill, with you. In making art, I take inspiration from everything around me--the ordinary and the sublime, the everyday and the transcendent. This photograph exemplifies that: a red ladybug resting on a window sill in my kitchen. I loved the contrast between her brilliant colors and the pale white of the sill, with a bit of a shadow. She transforms into a jewel.
